AB is 8 songs deep into writing their album.

So we can assume it's nearly done, then 3 months of label prep, then a 6 month tour...so I'd say this puts Slash's next studio time in around feb next year...then release probably 3/4 of that year or maybe start of year after.

As for VR it does beg the question....would he use his cool new riffs there or keep them over for Myles.....I sort of struggle to see how you can really write for 2 bands without one band ending up with your B sides.....

In VR they're going for a more modern sound than Slash's solo stuff, so that might help. I think it would be more of a problem for Myles, his style of singing and lyrics don't differ much between the two bands.

Alter Bridge are on par with the original GNR. Slash is many many pegs below that level in his solo material.

That's closer to the truth. I think overall AB is the bigger band, although Slash can outsell them in many countries.
