Re: Boston Marathon Bombing
Anyone at the Marathon on Monday? I was at mile 25 (basically a mile away) of the marathon after the Red Sox game.
Absolutely crazy scene as suddenly everybody stopped running and I had no idea what was going on. By all accounts the scene was gruesome despite the low number of fatalities.
Re: Boston Marathon Bombing
They've ID'd and arrested a suspect according to CNN. Full press conference scheduled for 5pm, so we'll find out the sick bastard(s) who carried out this heinous act soon enough.
I saw this earlier today. A number of photos, pointing out suspicious people, actions, etc. prior to the bombs going off. Now obviously some of these ideas maybe far fetched, so you can't go jumping to conclusions. We'll find out soon enough if the suspect was/is anyone outlined in these photos.

Glad to hear you're alright. I had a friend who was at the Sox game that day and was in a bar near Fenway when the bombs went off. Obviously, he concurred that it was a crazy scene.
As for the low number of fatalities. It appears the reason for that is they had triage tents and medical personnel onsite, due to the event, so that greatly helped lessen the number of fatalities. There were unfortunately many gruesome injuries, but thankfully many lives were saved that day.
For anyone who isn't familiar with the Boston Marathon, it's a huge event in the city. And not just because it's a marathon that runners from all over the world come to participate in it. It's run on Patriots' Day, which is a state holiday in Massachusetts, which commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, the first battles in the Revolutionary War. Schools have off that day, and many businesses statewide. The Red Sox always play at home on that day at 11am, while the Boston Marathon is being run. There are scores of people throughout the city that day. It's normally a joyous occasion. People are out all day long, drinking, enjoying, partying, cheering on the runners. I've only had the pleasure of going to it once, a few years back. I waited at that very finish line waiting for a friend to finish. Yet another terribly sad and tragic day in America on Monday. But thankfully, things all seem to be coming together today and the perpetrator(s) will be brought to justice.

I have a friend that lives near the area and has been worried about family being there. Alot of artists have reached out and tried to get in touch to help the case. My heart goes out to those people who are in dire straits. Dark time we are in. Thanks for providing the info everybody.

Wow..interesting. Hopefully they catch the person soon and bring him to justice; so these families, local citizens, and loved ones all over can have peace.
Re: Boston Marathon Bombing
Apparently, the AP, CNN, and other media outlets jumped the gun and there have been no arrests made and no one is in custody. They have made significant progress in the investigation, but there is still work to be done.
Meanwhile, many cities across the country have shown their support for Boston since the tragic events. Some of those moments took place as "Sweet Caroline" was played during many baseball games yesterday. Sweet Caroline is played prior to the bottom of the 8th inning before the Red Sox come to bat at every home game, thus the significance.
Re: Boston Marathon Bombing
Jesus Christ, did CNN get anything right through this whole thing?
Glad you're okay, FlashFlood! And everyone else who made it through.
I would've swore the the guys were American, but they look Middle Eastern. I'll still be shocked if they aren't Americans.
