Re: Music Gear!
so yeah i've been buying/selling and trading music gear for about a full year now and its compeltely addicting, plus i get to try out all kinds of stuff
anyway i posted in chat to smoking guns and monkeychow a little but am thinking about trading a 2012 fender usa std tele for a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 60 Head and 1960a Marshall Cabinet
I dont gig tho so am wondering if i should...cuz its gonna be loud...but my buddy has a fender Super Amp (4x10 Tube 60w) and its bearable but its not something to be played all the time lol...being a slash fan i've always wanted a Marshall Stack and a les paul kinda like bucket list shit...so i was thinking of going for it

Re: Music Gear!
If it's bucketlist it probably needs to be done
But I would add some caveats:
If going for Slash's tone, a lot of the awesome tube amp sound only comes at Slash volumes. I have a Slash Signature amp from 95 or whenever they brought those out and it sounds fucking incredible but if you use it on the exact settings slash uses you pretty much need a rehearsal space or you'll rattle your windows at home!
Secondly, be careful buying used tube amps. I got a JCM800 from a guy - ended up having some issues about a month after I got it - they're a bit like cars you need someone with you who knows how to go over the mechanicals and make sure they're ok.
Re: Music Gear!
yeah i know a bit about them if i dont fully understand how to build or repair one i have a good idea of what to look for (along with the trading and selling my freind and i have also tore down some guitars and taken apart amps and retubed and rebiased stuff...i know how to do my own intonation and stuff now too...
Re: Music Gear!
Iv got a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100 with a 1960a Marshall Cabinet Neemo. Great amp but theres one problem iv got Its just to loud for playing at home you have to have it on atleast 4 before the values start working and thats fucken loud. But being a 60 watt head your after should be killer. When i was playing in a band in small bar id have it on 4 to 5 and would be blowing everone of there feet and drowning out the rest of the band Like most things they sound their best just before they start distorting around 8 sound fucken wicked but playing it in a house is fucken unbearable .
