Describe the negatives of the refugees and the positives. How are they getting along with the locals? Are they treating your women nice? Is this a smooth migration? Are they appreciative of your hospitality. Are the locals worried for any reason? Tell me the positives and negatives. Be objective as possible.
In Finland, the situation is hostile, to put it bluntly.
Several refugee centers have been set on fire.
'Close the borders' demonstrations are being held.
The social media is up to the brim with hatred.
Refugees are welcomed at border stations with signs saying, 'Go home, ISIS.'
On independence day this month, there was a far-right march in Helsinki.
Onlookers described it as a 'scary, pseudo-fascist rally'.
It's a sorry state of affairs, to be sure.

And therein lies the problem. We have to poke the bear because nobody else will.
Why? The West doesn't do anything about sub-saharan Africa either, and no-one gives us shit about that. What's so special about the middle-east that it requires our immediate hands-on attention? Oh yeah, that's right, there's no oil in sub-saharan Africa.

Contrary to what people often say, I don't believe isolationalism is the opposite of interventionalism. Non-interventionalism is a much better term and what we should aspire to when it comes to the middle-east.
If the non-radical Muslims would take care of their own problem, we wouldn't have to be the world's police. They don't do anything about it because they are all trained by their bible that what the jihadists are doing is the right thing. Even if they personally don't do it, they don't do anything to stop it either. They need to fix the perception people have about Muslims. Nobody else can do it.
I agree, it's their problem to solve. But we can and should help by not polarizing. By not further feeding the perception that Islam is a barbaric religion, they have a hard enough problem to solve already without us piling on.
I said it before. Trump only has power because of the shit Obama has (or hasn't) been doing the past 8 years. They built up the resentment and they created this feeling of enough is enough by shoving this PC shit down everyone's throat.
I hate PC shit as much as the next guy, and I honestly feel we should be able to openly debate and even mock any religion without fear for retributions. But you don't discriminate based on race or religion, ever. Being against having 'special rules' for a specific set of people based on their religion is not about being PC, it's about believing in equality.

I believe in equality as much as anyone. I'm not a trump supporter. I'm just explaining why things are the way they are. Obama's dictatorship the last 8 years created the resentment that has allowed trump to be a force. There are a LOT of people fed up with the lies and deceit coming from the white house.
I'm all for completely closing the borders. That's not discrimination. Fix the process for letting people in, then open the borders with 100% adherence to the new policies (whatever they end up being).
There's absolutely nothing we can do about the Islamic perception until they care enough to fix it. That's 100% on them.
Is there oil in Korea? Germany? All the other places we have a military presence? I'm not going to sit here and say the oil isn't important because it is, but it's not the only reason we get involved. I'd love to leave the rest of the world alone, but guess what? Even most of these places that hate us need us. Anytime something happens, who gets called? What will happen to the rest if the world if we stop taking the calls? We get involved because it's our obligation to get involved. We have to because someone needs to and nobody else outside of maybe Russia has the resources we do. This isn't what I want, but it is reality.
What happens to the world if we stop taking those calls?

I've mentioned at the start of this thread that I hope Bernie wins. But no, I don't think Climate Change is a threat to national security, that was a stupid remark for him to make. Furthermore, although I believe climate change is real, man-made and we should do something about it, it should not be the number one priority with so many other fundamental short-term things that need to be fixed.
Bernie has many of the same upsides as Trump, in that he's not an establishment politician that lies to his constituency to hide his corporate sponsor overlords' agendas. But more than that, he also has the added benefit that he's not a complete retard that can't string together a coherent sentence, so there's that...

Democrats would never lose an election if they could just figure out how to pay for things before they buy them. It also wouldn't hurt if instead of enabling the poor they provided ways to help themselves live a better life instead of giving them the bare minimum to survive.

Here's why I lean republican even though I disagree with them on most social issues: the Republicans just ignore the middle class; the Democrats try to bring the middle class into the poor. Given the choice, I'd rather be ignored.

Next year $395 per month plus $21 for dental.
I take no drugs and haven't been sick in 5 years. I am young, no married, no kids, and healthy. HOW IS THIS SUSTAINABLE. ALMOST $400 per month. Wtf?!?!
