Yea I think it could play out like that ^
Normally I'd be cheering for the underdog, Wales, especially as I can't stand Portugal - Ronaldo & Pepe. But with Brexit I'm even more bitter than usual so..

It's actually not that common for the favorites to win. Weren't France/Spain doing the back-to-back (World-Euro) tournaments the only real times it's happened in my life-time?
That's why I'm not convinced Germany will win. France haven't really done anything besides hammer Iceland (and normally they would have been expected to do so anyway) and don't have their best striker or defender there for 2 very different reasons.
Wales haven't really done anything other than beat Belgium (and prove the FIFA rankings are a bit silly). Bale is a big game player however.
Ronaldo though I have a feeling will get his goal to equal the record and see this as something he can get over Messi who's international legacy is defeats in finals.

Germany did it too in 72-74.
It's not common for some favorites to win. France and Spain are known historical bottlers in this regard. Italy is hit and miss as well.
Germany and Brazil though usually meet expectations. I'd be very surprised to see a strong Germany lose to a middling France. They only lost to them once, in the third place final way back in 1958. It's possible for them to lose a final though, as 2 of their 3 losses came against "lesser opponents".

Yes, it's not very often I get to cheer on these Portuguese ladyboys & the embodiment of evil that is Pepe, so I'm actually looking forward to it!
Aye Germany are massive favourites. Far ahead in terms of development than their competitors. Still hoping for sake of novelty & fun they lose but can't really see it. They're the best team.
