Holy fuck......they're really back. Best song I've heard from them since 1997.
Death Magnetic had some rippin' shit on it too. I agree though, this is fucking great. Can't wait to hear some more shit off the album.

Heard this on the radio yesterday...I liked it
BUT!
Not a fan of the production on St anger, death magnetic and now Hardwired...
The finish product sounds way too "crisp" and clean....maybe over polished?
And I just wish they'd drop Lars in in mix a bit...and maybe maybe losen his drum skins a tad

Song gets better and better. This is a killer comeback single and I hope this album has a few killer deep cuts. A lot of people are shitting on it comparing it to St. Anger and Death Magnetic but I think this song could have easily been on Reload. Place it between Fuel and Memory Remains....it fits.
So glad to have a new Metallica song that I actually like. The Day That Never Comes was ok but other than that, haven't bothered with Metallica since Reload and Garage Days in 98.

Sounds like a continuation of Death Magnetic, with some old school Kill Em All flavour. That solo sounds very Kill-like too.
Song titles sound a bit dumb, and almost immature dare I say?
But I'll reserve judgement until hearing them.
Honestly, I know everyone has been wanting them to return to their thrash glory days, but I'm not sure it suits them. It does sound forced and unnatural.
I really liked the epics the band released songs like Fixxxer, Outlaw Torn and No Leaf Clover, and I've been hoping for more of that type stuff. Even a Sad But True type track would be great.
