Re: US Politics Thread
SG, you voted for a guy for president who was accused of doing way, way worse than Axl was, so if we're talking hypocrites, look at yourself. So we're clear, Trump was accused of beating and raping Ivana for suggesting the plastic surgeon who fucked up his bald spot removal, and is accused of raping a 13 year old girl on the Lolita Express you kept talking about... Before you knew Don was a guest on.
Again, some twenty something drunk punk writing a silly fictional song is a lot different than a political leader using his power to back up the things he actually believes in.
Just admit that Axl has no room to talk. We all see it but you. He is holding Sessions to task over shit he did in his 30's.
Re: US Politics Thread
Of course he can talk, because people grow up. You should stop playing holier than thou. You supported the guy who put Sessions in this position. You voted for the guy who was accused of doing worse. Sessions had issues recently with the Justice who desegregated schools because of his "activism."

So Axl can grow up but Trump and Sessions cannot?
Really? Nobody is perfect. They all have issues. Including Axl. Just silly to see one woman beater call out another.
Re: US Politics Thread
Anyone who makes a public statement is subject to criticism for their own past. There is a difference though, as Sessions and Trump haven't shown any level of growth. I don't know if 1988 Axl Rose would stick up for a latina teen who was being racistly harassed and he would help her out and call out xenophobia. I do know 2016 Axl did. You never acted as if it bothered you before, and you have no problem supporting a person for president who has shown worse qualities and faced more accusations. Your accusations of hypocrisy are a little ironic.

Axl is as flawed as it gets and I accept it. I don't have to love him personally, but he is one of the greatest frontmen in the planet. But for the most part since 1990 he has been a bitch. Excuses for every God Damn Thing. Yet he has the balls to tell Trump to stop whining because he won and it comes with he territory. HAHAHAHA. OH THE IRONY. Axl is a bigger public figure than fucking Jeff Sessions. He RECORED AND A SONG ON AN ALBUM THAT SOLD 5 million copies in the US alone. Jeff Sessions denies his comments. Axl put his on a record. Jeff Sessions and Axl both have good qualities. I just happen to not agree with Sessions immigration policy. That is why I don't want him as the AG.

Trump and Sessions have a real impact on our lives.
Axl does not.
We can simply stop following Axl. We can't with Trump and Sessions.
You voted for Trump, excused, justified and accepted all of his shit. You own it. This comes with the deal.

Axl's comments aren't getting any attention outside of the fan community, but has anyone seen the articles about Kanye West supporting Trump at his shows? The guys an idiot so I don't care what he says. I'm just interested to see if he can overcome the twitter brigade.
Re: US Politics Thread
I guess since Hillary wont get her "no quotas' on immigrants, Obama has to make things more difficult for Trump in his final days.
Obama ‘opens borders’ in his final weeks by ‘quietly shutting down surveillance scheme'
The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Operation Phalanx, was launched in 2010 to supply the National Guard with resources to monitor illegal border crossings and drug smuggling operations.
But Obama closed the programme, despite being fully funded for another year, because of a major reduction in illegal crossings.
This has left politicians furious at the outgoing President with Republicans
writing a letter to the DHS.
Texas Governor Gregg Abbott and US Representative Henry Cuellar said the shut down is contradictory.
Their letter read: “Any decrease in aerial observation is not only imprudent, but contradicts the very mission of border security enforcement.
“In order to ensure we are doing everything possible to effectively secure the border, we request immediate information on the metrics used to determine that a 50 per cent reduction in aerial resources would be sufficient to support this important border security operation.”
Governor Abbott went the extra mile to post on twitter: “Obama is doing everything he can to open the border. January 20 can’t come soon enough.”
One month before Donald Trump’s shock election win, the number of Incomplete Family Unit’s (IFU) illegally crossing the border sharply increased by 37 per cent, months after the billionaire promised to build an "impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern border wall" between the US and Mexico.
In order to secure its construction, Trump is currently in the process of appointing a new DHS chief, and the hopefuls are both Republican.
From March 2012 to December 2015, Operation Phalanx showed its effectiveness by seizing almost 13,000 pounds of narcotics and almost 11,000 apprehensions.

The Daily Express is the equivalent of dog shit in the UK. No one takes it seriously and most of the people who use the site are Americans.
It's a site/tabloid that posts right wing political post-truth stories as facts. You're completely scrapping the bottom of the barrel if you're browsing it.

If you feel the need to critique my net viewing habits, I searched for articles on the Scarlett Fakhar fiasco and they were one of the outlets covering it. I clicked it and read it. The Obama story was on their sidebar. I then clicked that.
JUst because various outlets have some bullshit stories does not mean every article is bullshit. Are you gonna tell me Scarlett wasn't fired since the Express covered it?
My favorite site from that side of the pond is the Telegraph. If they had a Scarlett story and it came up higher in the search results I would've clicked that instead. The Telegraph posts a lot of stories that are ignored here...including things that happen in the US.
