I don't know what setup they have, but classified cell phones with built in encryption are a pretty common thing.  You're average person isn't going to have one (the only people I saw with one was Admiral Mullen who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs at the time and the General of DISA), but your senior leaders are going to have them.

Without knowing the subject of their discussions, I don't know if they need to be on a secure line.  If they're just exchanging greetings and talking over policy, you wouldn't use a secure line anyway.

I'm not saying this is right, but the media are the least qualified people to have an opinion on this issue as they thought Clinton did no wrong with her email usage - they don't understand how classification and security work.  Using a secure line isn't preferable to normal dialogue anyway as there is a few second delay in voice as the data is encrypted. transmitted and decrypted at each end.

The play is art, not his statement. And nobody is suggesting he is not allowed to do it, he's just being called out for being an ass.

That's a bit of a silly distinction to make, of course they aren't going to change the play to comment on the election outcome. But it's the artist's platform, that's what matters. As for him being an ass, I disagree... he politely voiced his concerns and did not take any potshots.
Seriously, have conservatives grown such thin skins that this is considered being an ass:

We have a guest in the audience this evening. Vice President-elect Pence I see you walking out, but I hope you will hear us just a few more moments. There’s nothing to boo here ladies and gentlemen. We have a message for you sir. We hope that you will hear us out. I encourage everyone to pull out your phones and tweet because this message needs to be spread far and wide.

Vice President-elect Pence we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton, an American Musical. We really do. We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, out children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us. We truly thank you for sharing in this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men, women of different colors, creeds and orientations and we truly hope that you heard our message sir, because you all represent all of us.

We don't have to fight one another. The beautiful part of this country is ... we don't have to agree, but we gotta live here, baby, and share with one another.

I mean, seriously... how much of a pussy do you have to be to be offended by this? And we have to be fair here, Pence wasn't actually offended, only the orangutan manbaby was... AND CALLED FOR A FUCKING SAFE SPACE!! That's my point here, how can you trust him to 'end political correctness' when one of the very first things he does flies directly in the face of what you've asking for this entire election cycle?

Well, it's a good thing you mention it, because apart from greed, little has done more to hurt artistic expression than the leftist censorship campaign. Film makers and producers are now afraid to talk about certain things, in this society where freedom of speech is supposed to be one of the main virtues. Many countries have outright criminalized it. The UK in particular are throwing people in jail for all sorts of silliness. One town made it a hate crime to approach women.

We firmly agree on this, like I said before: although I'm clearly on the left on most social issues, nothing trumps freedom of speech and individual liberties for me. As a matter of fact, I happen to be of the opinion that those two things are one and the same: you can't be socially progressive if you don't believe in individual liberties.

polluxlm wrote:

That shit is exactly why Trump is President.

Yes, you're right. You're also delusional if you truly believe that Trump will change any of that, especially after his tweets about wanting the theater to be a safe space, not even two weeks after winning the election.

I'm not sure I have a good argument as to why, perhaps I'm just naively hoping that most them are fake, but I'm inclined to agree with you on this. I sincerely hope a good deal of those are just ill-advised posers on twitter trying to get a bunch of retweets.

Most of them were verified by reputable news sources, eyewitnesses, or video. I did consider some could be fake, but there's no doubt it's happening.

Our reporters have witnesses several that we didn't write about in our newspaper.

In one instance, a Trump supporter spit on our reporter outside Trump Tower in Chicago. We chose not to report it.

Well, that's disheartening then... Although Buzz is right about the people on the fringes getting all the attention, so it's still very likely a limited phenomenon (I hope). I just wish our right-wing friends would acknowledge that the same goes for the left. You know #NotAllLiberals are SJW's and all that...

Not trying to start an argument, just want your opinion as classified material was an issue for you with Clinton. General Flynn showed classified info to foreign armies twice. Should that alone disqualify him from a cabinet position?

As far as Hamilton goes the cast was inappropriate however Trump should let that shit go. Mike Pence was pretty classy about it. I don't remember any conservatives lecturing Barack like this. So it was pretty lame but not a big deal.

Let's hope he selects Mitt Romney as the SOS.

Are you fucking kidding me? They called him a liar during a joint session of congress, which had never been done before. Jan Brewer stuck her boney, crypt keeper finger in his face. Peddle that BS somewhere else...

The cast was very respectful, unless pleading for equality now equals being inappropriate.

Ironic considering how much he's been railing on people telling him what to do all his career. 'Million' was the anti pc statement of the 80s.

Pollux, he can say what he wants because he is a "rock star" or "artist" and can't change your life. Tell that to people that got hurt during Axl riots or the owners of the damaged property. Yes, Axl Rose CAN affect your life. So glad we are talking in hyperbole now.

Forgive me, but when did Axl ever start a riot based on political reasons? And it can't be this hard to understand that political beliefs of a rock star will not impact your life. The beliefs of an attorney general will. Yes, stop talking in hyperboles.

I'd have to know the context and whether it was intentional or not.  I'm not familiar with the story.

He was clearly mocking our safe space culture with that horse shit. I laughed when he tweeted that. He's definitely going too far with everything else about it though. Its bordering on a non-issue.

I'm concerned shit like this is happening all over the country now.

Yes it is concerning but just as equallly disturbing is all the shit the left has been doing. Calling for Trump's assassination, people spewing their hatred of white people because of an election, etc.

Tit for tat. Its time for both sides to cool their engines or major shit is going to happen.

Let's hope he selects Mitt Romney as the SOS.

God I loathe Romney.

Most of these people will be in for a shock when Trumps presidency starts and nobody gets moved or deported anywhere.

THose in for the biggest shock are the US cities Trump is already talking about pulling federal funding for keeping their cities as "safe havens" for illegal immigrants.

He was never going to build a literal wall. There are other ways to keep them out or limit the flow and that's why certain cities are having caniption fits. No more fed money for every illegal you beg into your state.

I saw the same the day after the brexit vote. A guy working in Subway was laughing with his colleagues saying his mum had walked in to the local 'paki' shop that morning and told the owner to 'pack his bags it was time to go home.'

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Things are just getting started over there. Don't laugh or cry yet. Both Germany and France are on the verge of "making their country great again". After that, dominoes start falling.

In one instance, a Trump supporter spit on our reporter outside Trump Tower in Chicago. We chose not to report it.

That's disgusting. As you know, the media isn't very loved at the moment but shit like that is unacceptable.

Agreed. One cant be peaches and cream but the other an outrage. Media better start getting consistent quick.

This sums up the Trump voters mentality perfectly....

Exactly what I was talking about before. A moderate would've said it sums up both sides pefectly. ON election morning we heard all this peace, love, and unity from Hillary voters "no matter how the election turns out" and then hours later they're spewing continuous venom and acting out with protests and riots.
