Re: US Politics Thread
Oh, I'm not upset at all. I would have hand picked her to stay if my opinion mattered. She's the worst choice for the Democratic party. It proves that nothing was learned and your party has now officially squandered everything it got in 2006 and 2008. 10 years of control that will soon be a foot note in American history.
Re: US Politics Thread
Flagg is right. While Hillary's loss wasn't expected, she has to blame her campagin & Huma Aberdeen & Debbie Wasserman Schultz & others for their ill thought out idea that "Just win the big cities and you'll win the US". It was poorly thought out & botched. My brother read an article (could be heresay) that said Bill was pretty upset because he argued that she needed to go into the smaller towns, the Scranton PA's, Columbus Ohio's and send her message to them. Her campaign disagreed. Come to think of it, when she gave up on Ohio that did seem to go oddly unnoticed.
I said this before, I recall Obama & Biden visiting Scranton alot, it would be on the news here a bit, same with Allentown area. I gotta say, I think I recall her being there once, she might have been there a bit more, but not a whole lot. Biden had a grandfather there, and he always spoke about "visiting Scranton Pennsylvania in the summers". I'm pretty sure Hillary has some ties there, her Dads from there or something, she hardly mentioned it?! The fact she lost PA is pretty astonishing, but it's exactly the case Flagg is making. She alienated the blue collar democrats and democratic towns hoping to simply get mass volume in the cities. Which is fine, to an extent, but there's only so many voters in the cities, and you really gotta spread yourself more thin. I think she was in Philly like 4 times in the last 7 days? Like wtf.
Heres an article a FB friend posted who's from up around that area: http://www.newsweek.com/2016/12/16/dona … 27861.html
Re: US Politics Thread
Just as I said a few days ago...all those deeply rooted conservative beliefs...POOF...all up in smoke. Today the same people who warned us all of socialism under Obama now applaud Trump for government intervention in the private sector. From the right wing media all the way down to posters in this thread.
Of course too his Carrier "deal" isn't much to brag about, but I find the hypocrisy from conservatives to be a much bigger story.

If only these "Closer Look" segments would have alerted the public to the problems with Obamacare or Black Lives Matters or Immigration. People see what they want to see. None of you were on this forum or any other bitching about the millions who were financially impacted when their premiums rose and could no longer afford insurance. None of you said "Hey, wait a minute" when Obama decided to let mentally ill people join the military who will never be combat ready because their medication and counseling prevent them from entering a combat zone. None of you posted any concern when Obama overreached his executive authority and set precedents that you won't enjoy now that Trump can wield that power. None of you were here advocating how wrong Reid using the nuclear option in 2012, but are shitting your pants now that the GOP has total control and can literally remove the DNC from any control of our federal government.
But keep yucking it up with Samantha Bea and Seth Myers. The adults will be making sure Trump doesn't kick start WW3 while correcting a lot of the damage the Obama administration has enabled the past 8 years.

Flagg continues to slap the libs around and I love it.

Now this parts just too far. His cabinet is becoming silly & there's talk he'll appoint Exxon CEO to Secretary of State?! I could go on, but I'll wait for that NOT to happen so I don't get worked up over a news story. It's being reporting on legitimate sources tho.
Re: US Politics Thread
For anyone interested in Linda McMahon's appointment to cabinet, here's a slight history on her in the first few minutes.

Why is it silly? How is some Harvard Economist who has never set foot in the workforce more capable than a CEO of a billion dollar company? Silly to me is putting in academics who haven't left their classroom in 30 years. Which nominations do you have a problem with? And what scrutiny did you apply to Obama's nominations? It's no secret Obama's first 2 years were an absolute horror internally because they loaded the cabinet with idealistic "intellectuals" who had no experience in the same world you and I walk in every day. They thought they were going to accomplish all the hope and change Obama promised and hit the brick wall once they realized accomplishing something requires more than loud protests and blaming others. It requires actual work. His current administration is perfectly fine, even if I don't agree with their policies. Trump is doing the opposite and putting people in positions based on their decades of actual experience in the field.
Meanwhile the DNC is about to nominate a blatant racist who has openly praised the Nation of Islam and Farakhan to its chairmanship. No claims from reporters from a suspect source without any actual evidence. You can google this guy and find clips where he's praised people who openly advocate racial superiority. Not a single person on this board has commented, but how many fucking pages did we have on Bannon just because some idiot from MotherJones claims Bannon admitted he attracted the Alt Right.
So with Farakhan calling white people the devil and advocating for a black state, I'm a hell of a lot more concerned with the direction of the Democratic establishment. The saddest part is the party isn't aware it's tying its own noose keeping Pelosi and nominating a Black Power advocate to its highest positions. Wait till the Zionists unload on this guy.

Read that and tell me how this guy is less of a "racist" than Bannon. The article has a quote where Ellison is defending the claims that Jews were in on WW2. This isn't a claim of calling someone of color "boy." This is actual evidence of Ellison being involved in the holocaust denial and supporting some of the most radical people in the country. And this is your future leader if you align with the Democratic party. Yet not a single peep.
Re: US Politics Thread
In the latest episode of taking the piss we hear:
Hillary Clinton issued a call to action against the “epidemic” of fake news in a rare public appearance since her unexpected loss to Donald Trump.
The Democratic presidential nominee warned that the proliferation of false news stories online can have “real world consequences”, alluding to an incident over the weekend in which a man opened fire at Comet Ping Pong after reading a false news story that purported the DC pizzeria was harboring children as part of a sex ring led by Clinton. No one was injured.
“This is not about politics or partisanship,” Clinton said, during a tribute to departing Senate minority leader Harry Reid. “Lives are at risk. Lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days to do their jobs, contribute to their communities.”
“It is a danger that must be addressed and addressed quickly.”
Clinton was joined by Vice-president Joe Biden and congressional leaders of both parties to bid farewell to Reid, who leaves the chamber after 30 years in the Senate. When Clinton rose to speak, she received a standing ovation from the audience, which included lawmakers from both sides of the aisle.
The former secretary of state has maintained a low profile since the election, enjoying hikes in the woods near her home in Chappaqua, New York. A number of locals have posted photos online of Clinton spotted on a hike.

This from a woman who faked her own rally:

Even that hike is suspect. She can barely walk and is on heavy medication, but is out climbing the terrain?

They have a knack for making it sound ridiculous, I'll give them that.
