God I wish we had some insight to the Guns camp. Specifically Slash. He hasn't really said anything in a year.

GNR will let us down even more in 2017. Sure the shows will be cool but they will still play the fucking Seeker and Axl will refuse to release ANYTHING except ugly Tshirts and Jackets.

Trump will have ups and downs in year one.

Stock Market will stay stagnant and just say in that 19,500-20,500 range.

US Economy will continue to improve

US home sales will slow a bit with Interest rate hikes.  But will be a short term slow down.

Curious, when interest rates go up on home sales/mortgage...how does that effect the housing market in general? Will the value of my home go up or down?

Rates hikes make the pool of purchasers smaller. However if everyone started making more money it could be offset. A small hike won't matter. But a big jump in rates could have a big slow down. I hope for rates should be in the 4% range. I fear over 5% will hurt.

I have a 20 year mortgage at 4.4 %...I'm about 2.5 years into it. I'm trying to be smart with this investment.

They have an inverse relationship with each other. The more expensive money is the less an asset may cost and vice versa.

15-20 year mortgages are the way to go IMO. Stay in it as long as you can and pay biweekly rather than monthly if you are able. So if note is 1500, pay 750 every two weeks. It will shave a couple of years off the loan. I had a 15 year on my previous home and loved seeing that principle go down.

Pay off your mortgage asap...  people that say "invest your other money and you will make more than you pay in interest on your home" are full of shit. Easier to plan for retirement with no mortgage.

I predict this as well. I'll also add there will be civil unrest in Germany.

I hope all the Marvel and Star Wars stuff bombs spectacularly so that we're done with that way of making movies. Slim chance though.

I want this fad to die off as well. Always hated superhero movies and now that I've rekindled my long dead interest in amusement parks and started researching them, 90% of roller coasters are named after superheroes and use all those colors.

Let this be the year.

My predictions....

Soundgarden release a new album...also announce it is their last

One of the Rolling Stones will die

Going with Pasnow on a major shocking celebrity death but unlike the prediction above, will be one of the younger stars....actress or singer

A major incident in Korea which will push us to the brink...similar to the crisis a few years ago but will be worse

Sears AND Macys will go under.....which will symbolize the death of American mall culture

The two most unlikely reunions.....Elastica and ABBA.....WILL happen but not as tours...just a show or two.

GNR prediction: This year we will get the 2 disc compilation that should've been released last year.

Just want to point out that Germany already has a center right leader leading it (with an extremely high approval rating) despite what Americans on the Internet believe. Unless you're suggesting the far right, in which case good luck with that prediction.

I don't think France is moving further to the right unless Fillon gets past Macron in the first round. In which case Fillon is probably not much different from the center right France is used too. As for La Pen, if she makes it past the first round as expected due to other parties splitting the vote, it's extremely unlikely she'll do anything in the second round. If Macron makes it past the first round, then France is very likely moving further to the left.

Not the same as Brexit or Trump and the expectations that Holland/Austria would move to the populist far right in other threads were already proven silly.

France failed to elect the far right tonight. It's okay maybe Denmark will elect the far right in 2019 to keep spirits on high on the alt right front!

Macron picks a Conservative PM.  The left and socialists are completely defeated in France.  But will still argue that the left has any power in Western Politics.  I guess we'll see how the socialists/progressives do in Germany.
