I may buy an AR 15 just incase one of these crazy fucks that has one starts shooting I can shoot back. Oops, there I go, buying one because I figure the bad dudes already have one. See how this works. It sucks it is like this.

Misterid is a dem, but is reading line for line the talking points by Flagg. Flagg voted for Hillary and has been the NRA's best friend today. Am I he only Trump voter here willing to admit our nation has a gun sickness?

Part of the reason all AR15's are sold is the "if the crazy blacks have these guns we need them too". Let's be honest. It's not just fear of the govt, it is fear of the blacks. And that is a legit fear for many people that live in urban areas where home invasions and carjackings take place. Since crazy folks (like those in chicago) have huge stock piles of stolen guns they want theirs too. I get it. The Democratic Party have let down many urban cities that have strict gun laws and high crime as they sell their illegal drugs. Maybe we should legalize all drugs since we have legal guns. If we can't stop the war on drugs why even have one?

The reason the Australian shit won't work here is because we have too many crazy motherfuckers in the US. Canada and Aussie land are far safer than the US.

Then the rest of the gun owners are fanatics that likely masturbate at night to their shiny AR 15. They are prepping for war. A war vs the Gov't, a Race War, a war against Isis, whatever, they have to have that gun.

So in the US, we have a high suicide rate
Pay some of the highest rates in the world for prescription drugs
Have no universal drug care
And have one of the highest gun crime rates in the civilized world.
Oh, and Abortion is legal.

We are fucked

And our educational system is bloated and way down the list compared to many other countries.

Neemo is right. In a few weeks this will be over. We will worry about the boogie man, Russia, over some silly shit and then a new attack will happen. The Dems will pray it is a white guy and not a Muslim and the Republicans will pray it is not a white man but a Muslim.

Sick of not getting shit done.

I am not attacked my blacks just telling you why many own guns.

This is absolute horseshit. Gangs outside of cartels aren’t using assault weapons. “Blacks” use handguns in their statistics, just like everyone else. In fact, blacks are the least likely to shoot up a place with an assault weapon out of any racial demographic.

This is just fear mongering and it’s not remotely true. If you can cite me an article linking black gangs to assault weapons outside of  stormfront, please do.

Quit quoting Australia. They didn’t let anyone in their country who wasn’t white until the late 70s. America’s gun violence is incredibly connected to its racial problems. A diversity no other western country has. Not even Neemo’s beloved Canada can compare to our diversity and openness to people of all creeds and colors.

You are so full of shit...... I don't want to hear a lecture in logic or race relations from a Trump voter who DENIED reality. The second amendment is a real thing. Sorry, dude, it's not going anywhere. I do not own an AR-15. I don't hunt and don't kill animals for sport. I gave a reason why people owned them and the situation that would call for them.

I never purchased a gun because of blacks. I own it because of dangerous wildlife that live around me and dangerous people who live around me. Don't tell me I'm reading talking points and assume you know my intentions.

I hope I never have to use my gun. However I have a conceal carry permit and my black FBI agent neighbor said I should carry etc.

Some of my long post was hyperbole, some was not. When you see the looters on TV from protests and stuff the white folks see that shit too and may want to arm up a little bit. Like the Koreans did in LA, ID

What you can’t apparently grasp is we value our constitution and rights. The 2nd amendment is a right in America. The right to own a firearm is indisputable. And unlike Australia or England, we setup our constitution so it can’t be altered at the drop of a hat.

I get that your country didn’t kick the English monarchs out until 1981 or 1982, but we did that 200 years earlier and our constitution is the most revered legal document in the world.

So your ideas and fantasies don’t factor in. There’s no way you’re getting 2/3 of Congress and 2/3 of the states to ratify an abolishment of the 2nd amendment. You may not be aware of this, but you have the same guns in Canada we do. The same handguns and rifles. You just have the benefit of living in the shadow of the US and pretending your nation is anything more than beneficiary of the United States.

I love Canada, but its culture and economy is so connected and dependent on the US, to pretend you guys have a unique identity is just laughable.

You’re on a message board for an American band using a computer invented by Americans powered by electricity invented/harnessed by Americans using the internet created by Americans. Cut me a break.

Clearly you trust our gov't (really the politicians) more than I do.  I hope you're right, but the amendment exists for a reason and just because we haven't needed it since the civil war doesn't mean we never will.

I don't trust our government.

And I don't trust heavily armed people (civilians) either.

Editorial: Silencers. Armor-piercing bullets. The shameless GOP agenda

Silencers? Armor-piercing bullets? Carrying concealed weapons across state lines?

No problem.

The Las Vegas massacre, the most deadly shooting in modern U.S. history, may have slowed Republican congressional efforts to relax gun controls. But it won’t stop them.

Before Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, killing at least 59 and injuring more than 500, Republicans were pushing NRA-backed legislation to loosen restrictions on weaponry.
The Sportsman Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act (you gotta love those euphemisms) would loosen federal regulation of gun silencers and legalize sale of armor-piercing bullets. Separate legislation would allow people with concealed weapons permits to cross state lines with their hidden guns.

Before Sunday, the House was expected to pass the bills soon. But on Tuesday morning, House Speaker Paul Ryan, asked about the SHARE Act, said he did not know when it would be scheduled for a vote. Translation: Let the furor die down and then get back to business as usual.

What’s amazing is that the bills are even being considered, and before Sunday were so close to a vote.

Republicans weren’t deterred by 49 killed at an Orlando nightclub; 14 in San Bernardino; 10 in Roseburg, Ore.; nine at a historic black church in Charleston; 20 students and six employees at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., or seven at Oikos University in Oakland. Just some of the mass shootings since 2011.

They weren’t deterred in June when a gunman wounded four, including Majority Whip Steve Scalise, during the Republican congressional baseball team’s practice.

Nor in 2011 when six died at a Tucson supermarket during the attempted assassination of Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords, who was shot in the head but miraculously survived.

The GOP and some Democrats are so addicted to NRA money that they continually ignore the repeated gun slaughters in this nation.

Indeed, they don’t even want to know the relationship between gun violence and public health. For two decades they have blocked federal funding for research on the topic by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And now silencers, armor-piercing bullets and interstate transport of concealed weapons.

Silencers have been strictly regulated since 1934. The NRA wants to make them easier to obtain, ostensibly to protect hunters’ hearing. It just wants to help the gun industry sell more weaponry, even though silencers would make locating shooters in emergency situations, such as the Las Vegas massacre, more difficult.

As for armor-piercing bullets, they would only be legal if the manufacturer claims the ammunition is for “sporting purposes.” (Like when you just know that deer is wearing a flak jacket.) And the portability of concealed weapons permits across state lines would undermine attempts in states like California to limit who can carry a hidden gun.

The legislation claims to be about recreational use of guns. But it goes way beyond that. It’s time to look hard at the violence in our own nation, and end the proliferation of weaponry that feeds it.
