Re: Halloween in today's culture
You Yanks with your Halloween traditions & culture are funny. How precious you are of something so meaningless & new. Samhain was once a valuable & important festival, but what you folks get misty eyed about was just schlock & im glad it’s unraveling.
Different strokes I guess. The Americanised Halloween always struck me as stupefying & awful, even if it is becoming increasingly stupid & awful.

We don't really have Halloween in Australia very much but it's starting to take off with the odd party or family event and I love it.
I'm not as much into the trick or treat idea but the whole thing with decorating everything spooky is awesome.
