Re: Current Events Thread
Honestly, I'm starting to think, we can all agree that covid & covid deaths are gonna get worse as it gets colder. And the SC nom will definitely be asked about 'Do you think ACA should be voided, eliminating pre-existing conditions in the midst of a pandemic?'
She'll give a non-answer (I can't comment on hypothetical cases etc) and they'll say its not hypothetical, and is she aware of the ACA court case, which saying 'No I am not' will also be a bad look. It's just gonna run its natural course. She'll get thru, and Dems should just allow it, but it'll expose alot and some voters will question the logic to it. A small number likely, as trumpers always gonna trump. Same with Roe v Wade, just ask the question, and demand an answer. She's obviously pro-life, but 'Would you vote to overturn it? Yes or No' and leave it go, again, Dems need to accept she's getting put thru.

Re: Current Events Thread
Any time some nut job did a horrible thing, we were told to blame Trump. El Paso shooter, blame Trump. Newspaper office got shot, blame Trump. Hispanic male stripper mails duds to Democrats, blame Trump.
It didn’t matter if the shooter had no connection to Trump, we were told by the media his rhetoric incited and emboldened them.
So when do we hold the media and Democrats responsible for the riots. They have been outright lying about the death of Taylor, and Twitter and left wing outlets are filled with comments from pundits and democratic politicians saying this is a travesty and we need to tear the system down. How are their words not actually inciting the rioters whom have shot several cops and caused hundreds of millions in damage?
Our left wing friends have been convulsing at the hypocrisy of McConnell. Where is there conviction at their own leaders who blame anything they can on Trump, but feel their blameless in inciting these riots?

They have been outright lying about the death of Taylor,
Just curious, which lies have been out there about the case? It's an honest question but most of what I heard I believe has been factual, and I'm not hugely all over the place on twitter and blogs etc.

That she was murdered in her sleep. She was standing alongside her boyfriend when he fired blindly at police.
That the police didn’t knock. The boyfriend testified they heard the knocking, and thought it was her drug dealing ex-boyfriend.
That Taylor had nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend’s drug enterprise. He was recorded in jail on the phone telling people she had his money stored for him. He had drugs mailed to her apartment for her to store to keep them separate from his residence.

Even if all this stuff is true...and I don't believe anything the police department says anymore...
How does this justify her being killed? You're devaluing her life. How is HE still alive and she's dead?
I heard many accounts of this incident all they're all different. The one you're quoting from here is the police version. I'm skeptical because they're just trying to justify careless behavior.
Your version almost perfectly overlaps with Tucker Carlson.
All this over drugs

The problem is you can't trust anyone's version fully and this woman who seemed to be a mostly upstanding citizen despite whatever alleged participation she had with her boyfriend's drug deals.
There are many people that feel killing someone in these situations is always justifiable.
What you have here is an incompetent police force with an ill-laid plan. But to some...no matter how badly police do their jobs they will always be backed. It's a job where people are willing to sweep poor performance under the rug because....golly...'it's a hard job.'
It's way easier to just shoot the fucker than actually do the job of keeping the peace. Pretty often these days, police escalate the situation more than anyone.

This is great. I hope he know how much he’s hated outside his bubble.

I never heard she was in her sleep. I think that is just paraphrasing or a figure of speech. Wasn't it 5AM? I think that's due to her 'being asleep' then woken up by gunfire. What moron believes someone can sleep thru gunshots in their own apartment.
The issue isn't the police didn't knock, it's that they didn't announce themselves as 'Police open up'. They interviewed 20 neighbors and only 1 claims they heard them say 'Police' once. However, one officer testified they did not announce 'Police' then later changed his tune, say we didn't, but then we did after we broke the door down. Kinda late for that.
I don't hear much if any dispute she wasn't involved, my issue is more the judge issuing the warrant under seemingly bad reasoning, and a likely overzealous drug task force for requesting it. If they ex didn't live there, yet it seems he was getting packages shipped there, isn't it only a short period of time she's in posession of it? Couldn't they stop her on her way to work, detain her, and execute the search warrant then? They'd still have access to the house.
And the BF shot 'blindly' at the people breaking his door down at 5am, unknowing it was police, since as stated above, they did not announce. Also, why no body cameras?? Its 2020, this isn't a minor traffic stop, give these break down your door officers cams. Again, this case did not require a 5am break down your door raid. Secondly, when you issue something like that, you cannot be wrong on it. You cannot be wrong.
They were wrong on it. Nothing found. Period.
