This is what this election cycle boils down to....due to how this presidency has been covered, there's nothing to move the needle in either direction. There will be no "October surprise" to deliver a knockout blow to Trump.

possibly his fact checking could help Biden since its possible that's a bit too far of a grasp for him anymore, and Wallace would look like he's helping out Biden too much

Fact checking could cause Biden's campaign to implode on the stage.

Biden: I'd like to thank the great people of Cleveland here tonight, my sister-

Wallace: Sir, that's your wife....

It's too risky.  If the candidate was anyone else, they would've really pushed this fact checking idea.

2006 Biden would beat him,

A young Biden would eat him for lunch. 2020 Biden has no business being in the race. It's really the Donald vs Kamala and if I were Trump, I would be sure to remind voters of this fact.

He should also bring up the usual issue of a 3 am call that's a global crisis unfolding. Does the country want someone who can't remember his wife taking that call? Time is of the essence in that situation. If nukes start flying, you've got 15 minutes. Should five of those minutes be spent reminding the president who everyone is?

Trump is a wild card. He can't be kept on script. It's like that old saying "let Reagan be Reagan". You just have to let Trump do whatever the hell he's going to do.

The pandemic has favored Biden so far. He didn't have to go through the grind of a real election. He got to spend most of it sitting in his rocking chair. His gaffes have been kept to a minimum.

Say what you want about Trump, he thrives on the campaign trail.

God I can't stand the media anymore. They don't even try to hide the way they craft these narratives for everyone to swallow.

Trump is spooked by Biden...

Like hell he is. If anything, he's foaming at the mouth to tear into him. I just realized this is exactly what they said about Hillary-Trump before that debate. Acting like she was going to clobber him over the head on the issues but instead was caught off guard and completely out of her element.

How do people watch this shit all the time?

The media has the US fucked and I don't even know if it can be unfucked at this point. I just see a downward spiral. Outside the US? Don't get too smug, the same thing is happening where you live too, it's just slower.

It's hard not to watch.

The world is moving far right when it actually needs to be much closer to the center.

Climate change is going to become THE issue of the coming decades yet we keep electing people who don't give a shit.

We picked the wrong era to turn news and politics into entertainment. The smartphone era provides too many distractions. Each side drowns in echo chambers, identity politics, and the extremes rise like cream to the top.

If there's one positive with Trump was exposing the media. And let's be honest, they were in bad shape before Trump, he singlehandedly saved the political news media. When he's gone..... Yikes.

And that's a good thing. Millennial "socialism" is as irrelevant as they are ambivalent.

This is why I don't believe they actually want him gone. He's a cash cow. They turned our culture into 24/7 Trump World and you can't just flip the switch off.

The DNC isn't all that opposed to him either. If they were, they would've picked someone else.

Trump serves the elites well. They won't upset that apple cart unless they have to.

It also reminds me of Biden's "Things won't fundamentally change" comment in regards to a Biden presidency.

As far as serving the corporate masters, he's probably right.

What will change is the whole Trump TV nation and I don't think people are willing to give it up just yet.

A Biden presidency, on the surface at least, would be similar to the Eisenhower era. A president sitting in his rocking chair watching TV and not really engaging with the media.

I just don't see it happening.

Oh, if Biden wins they still won't stop talking about Trump. Especially the never Trump republicans, they have a whole new grift now. And there's a good chance Trump runs again in 4 years.

I just saw where Biden wants several breaks during the debate.

This is insanity.

How many times have breaks been required during a debate?

This man isn't fit to run. Period.

Edit

Only legit reasons to need breaks every 30 minutes....

To inject him with uppers

To change his diaper

This country has jumped the shark.
