Re: The Wrestling thread
I love it too...I watched some of the 87 episodes last year.
It offers something different to you as an adult...a lot of the humor flew over your head as a kid and you didn't really pick up on the amazing chemistry.
Some of the shows have commercials I haven’t seen since 1987 and my mind is blown
I watch old commercials a lot on YouTube. I usually watch the videos that will either have a load of commercials from a certain day or a block of commercials from a specific year.
I stick to the 80s although I've watched a few from the late 70s.
I know it sounds crazy to watch commercials like that but I love the nostalgia and it's a great time capsule. The commercials from the 20th century were so much better.
I really love old fast food commercials...
Re: The Wrestling thread
I don’t think I fully appreciated how good Monsoon was, and what a great foil he was for Brain, something he didn’t have in WCW. I forgot how good Monsoon was with Ventura too.
Those commercials literally took me back to my childhood. It was a trip watching them in “real time.”
Re: The Wrestling thread
Did you ever watch Tuesday Night Titans?
It was like the Tonight Show but instead of Johnny Carson and a bunch of celebs across the board...it's wrestling.

It flew under the radar as it was on USA...like Primetime. Tuesday did it no favors neither.
WWF was really flying on all cylinders at the time. This show deserved to be on one of the main networks.
They killed it too quickly. Imagine the potential that show had to hype up PPVs in the late 80s/early 90s.
He should've brought it back in the Attitude era.
Once again...it pisses me off that NWA never had programs like these shows.
Re: The Wrestling thread
Blast from the past....
Ric Flair vs Magnum TA September 85
This is the main event at one of those NWA-AWA supercards under the Pro Wrestling USA banner.
This might be the last...or one of the last...times Magnum wrestled Flair. Like a few days later, Flair and the Andersons break Dusty's leg after the Flair/Nikita match setting up the Starrcade main event, and Magnum and Tully are about to kick their feud into high gear.
Re: The Wrestling thread
Despite having only two (excellent) televised singles matches, Bret Hart vs. Hakushi was one of the most memorable, cutting-edge in-ring feuds of the New Generation Era. (1995) 💜☠️ pic.twitter.com/vmL4Kek0No

Bret was so fucking good. Watch his leg when he gets hit by that moonsault outside. Yikes!

Yeah. Bret just knew how to sell the psychology of wrestling better than anyone. I rewatch the famous Wrestlemania match with Austin a few times a year. And Bret knows how to work over a body part better than anyone. Didn't matter who, Austin, Nash etc.
