Yeah it is wierd that they charge for the forum!

I bought membership cos they were selling meet and greet packages to memebers for the usa tour and I thought that might be cool for when they came down under. Turns out they didn't offer pre-sales or meet and greet for the down under shows...then they cancelled the tour yikes So i guess my money wasn't well spent!

But i've always been a fan of slash...so I can live with spendint that money and hoping that the next VR incarnation comes down under!

That's really disappointing when things like that happen.

You may look into contacting the company that runs the membership. A lot of those companies are good about refunding or at least giving something for free if you state your case about why you bought in and how you're not getting what you paid for.

Back in the mid-90s The Black Crowes were one of the first bands to do that membership type of deals. A friend of mine and I went to (and still do) every Crowes show in the state and figured it'd be a good deal. Plus the Crowes let you tape their shows so we thought it'd be a great way to get some good seats and tape some shows for ourselves.

Well, that summer they toured with Kravitz for some reason and he wouldn't allow taping at all. The only times the Crowes came through that summer were with him so our main reason for buying the membership was kinda shot. My friend wrote an email and explained to the promotion company why we were disappointed and a full refund was given.

You might as well try it.

Yeah I made the mistake of showing up on time when Kravitz opened for Aerosmith, he played on and on... Then Aerosmith came out and opened their show with Helter Skelter, Lenny was forgotten...

Just to correct the record on the Crowes all you need to join their website is an e mail address now. Not sure if they just discontinued what you went through or what. Just saw them do Warpaint the whole record live in Atlanta cover to cover awesome...Never seen a band do that before.

I will never support an artist/band that charges to be in their online community.

Whenever I type 'Velvet Revolver forum' into google it comes up fine, no charges, nothing. As far as I can see its the official site. And no I havn't previously paid for it...

Is Scott Stapp currently working? His voice is on par with Weiland's, and his lyrics are sometimes better.

Re: Sorum - "Singer Search Is Coming Along"

Is there any more news on the subject?

I wish that they've been thinking this through properly this time around, since the possibilities are endless.

And I'm sure that they won't pick another famous singer, but if dreams were allowed in real life Dave Mustaine would be one hell of a singer and guitarist to front a new band with the rest of the guys...

It would be interesting if they went down that road as well - with a singer who plays guitar instead of having a separate singer and rhythm guitar player. It's too bad that it won't happen, though.

But don't get me wrong, I'd love for Dave Kushner to stay in the band too. Obviously.
