Yes, from first look it seems like a very well written and well researched book. Author has really done his homework combining information already out there and original interviews. Worth ordering, in my opinion.

I'm going to wait until the physical version is released, but is there any chance Tobias has been interviewed for this? I assume off the record if so.

Pitman is interviewed and 2-3 other NuGnR members are talking anonymously (I don't think Paul Tobias is one of them).

I know they are under NDAs but this is hilarious after all these years. State secrets being kept in that vault!

I would assume Stinson and Fink, Brain probably still had one foot in the camp when this book was being written, he might not anymore because of Isaac but you would probably know better than I. Besides he may think speaking either on the record or off could put Mellissa in an difficult position. Any song names mentioned?

I just finished the book today. I think it might be possible he spoke to Paul.

The Pitman interview must have either been disappointingly short (with little juice), or it was split in the official and the anonymous part. I totally could imagine the quote on Beta coming from Pitman, same thing with the disillusionment after CD with the half filled Vegas residency, as well as with the working on D-List songs with Axl in the studio. Also the bad blood with Slash & Duff screams Pitman.

The only part that is puzzling me is the exit of Paul. It would fit perfectly to Pitman as well, but he is mentioned directly underneath it with a contradictory statement. That could of course have been deliberately done in order to cover himself properly, or it was indeed another member. I honestly don't see that coming from either Brain, Bucket, Robin, or Tommy. Bucket and Robin usually don't talk. And Brain and Tommy are the ones that gave the most interviews about their experiences and there's little indication that anything else in the book might have come from either of them. That would leave Dizzy or even Paul himself. I wouldn't rule out either. Both would also make sense in regards to the quote about "being payed just enough to get by" for the longer stretch of time.

No, not even all the songs that ended up on CD are mentioned...

I assume Stinson is one of them. I doubt it's Finck, because there's not much about him like why he left (the second time). It doesn't seem that the author got access to anyone close to him either, like he got access to a couple of people around Buckethead. Or maybe some members agreed to only answer certain questions and refrained from commenting on other subjects. I wouldn't rule out Brain because he has been quite open after the reunion.

No unreleased song name except the industrial Elvis cover Axl recorded on his own and Dominguez says it was 'Can't Help Falling In Love'.

I think the anonymous quote about Paul Tobias' exit is not something Stinson or Brain would say out in the open, so it may be one of them. I doubt it's Paul Tobias himself, because there would be at least one other anonymous quote about another subject pointing out that it's him. And Pitman saying that off the record and then on the same page saying something different on the record is too much of a stretch, in my opinion.

But definitely some of the other anonymous quotes are Pitman talking off the record because of NDA, especially the bitter one about the reunion rehearsals. I also guess that all their NDAs don't allow them to give specifics about their salaries, so it could be anyone of them talking about that anonymously. The one about not being paid on time after TB took over management is obviously from someone who was still in the band after 2011.

There are other anonymous quotes that are not from band members, but probably from technicians or other employees. The quote on Beta (the really bad one) sounds like it could be from someone like Robert John.
