Later than work done from the locker leak stuff that's out there, this was both after Fortus had joined, and after RTB had gone.

The Dan named here will be Dan Monti who worked as an in house engineer and assistant engineer at The Village (and worked with Bucket)

Wonder what song was being worked on that day

So touch ups is my guess, unless you know more @Shacklermyrye ?

No I expect you are correct. Touch ups on tracks we know of probably, but not necessarily all the same album songs that were released in 2008 though.

"Guns N' Roses will go back into the studio immediately following the [August] dates to put the final touches on the forthcoming 'Chinese Democracy' album.

That was said in 2002 and the intended track list for the album at that time may not have been exactly the same as 2008, I'm sure that mostly it was but there may have been a song or two bumped off the list by 2008.

I was just surprised to see The Village post anything related to those sessions, the only person there outside of the band and producers who has ever talked about it a little is Jeff Greenberg i think, who was the CEO and manager in 2002, he bought it in 2007.

Oh i completely agree with you and i imagine songs that weren't on Chinese Democracy, released as Chinese leftovers by the reunion era were worked on as the ones that have been released is.

My apologies on not saying what a cool find that was by you and interesting one too. Basically the vault in my opinion is mostly filled with the Village sessions era songs, the later work at woodland or NYC and Vegas most likely were touch ups or alternative/new vocals also when Bumblefoot and Frank were copied and pasted onto the tracks.

We pretty much know what this means now...

A list - finished songs
B list - Unfinished, half baked, songs/sketches

Something getting "bumped" off the previous list just means a long simmering song is finally ready.

Fans assumed there was a mountain of material on both these lists...fans were wrong. I will never forget Merck saying there were 20 songs on the B list better than IRS.

Merck was wrong.

think that we'll go on to write some very interesting things with Richard

As we all know....this never happened.

but it's time to stop [adding new songs] now and wrap up the baby.."

In other words....time to stop tinkering on the same songs and at least release the stuff finished on the A list.

B list saved to eventually help prop up reunion tours....

This was the B list

I really want to see what the A list was.

If you want to debate that's not the B list I'm more then happy to hear why.

It's clearly listed as subject master b
So therefore subject master a would be more important just due to the order.
It's logical to assume that's the a list is smaller then the b list.

now the individual who has that list could kindly upload it here that would much appreciated.

I'm in the camp the vault isn't empty.

"There's been some concern. That if we play five or six new songs, then there can't that many more on the album. Au contraire, mon frére. We're just playing the songs we're not considering putting out as singles or anything. So, you'll get 18 songs, and about 10 extra tracks. And when that, when the record company feels that has run its course, then you'll get it all over again. By that time, I should be done with the third album. So we'll see if all goes well boys and girls." (Axl, Docklands, 08/26/02)
