However, it's actually a good thing that you had an anxiety attack as opposed to actually having a heart condition. And anxiety can be controlled with relaxation and breathing exercises and/or some counciling...so it should work out ok...but we're all thinking of you smile

Oh, I don't know. Have you ever had one before? I have to tell you, I have, and believe me, it FEELS like you're having a heart attack. Worst feeling in the world besides having one, I am sure. The heart racing, the chest squeezing, ears ringing, extremities and face going numb, sharp shooting pains that feel like you got hit by lightning going down your arms- not fun. First time it happened to me, I was driving to work at 10:45 PM. I was in a great mood, and for the life of me can't figure out why I had an "anxiety" attack that night. I was close enough to home and barely made it to my front door. My hands were all clawed up, so I couldn't get the key in the door, so I had to bang it hard until my husband opened the door. By then, I was hyperventilating and I couldn't tell him what was going on, other than I thought I was having a heart attack.

Second time it happened, again, I was in a good mood, sitting down getting ready to eat my lunch, when it happened. My poor youngest daughter was home alone with me. I felt so sorry for her, thank goodness a family friend was walking her dog as the ambulance came into my driveway. She took her with her to get my husband at the soccer field (he was reffing at the time).

Scary as hell........

James, I already PMed you my friend. Hang in there.

Again, I just now caught this.  I'm very sorry you went through this, but so glad you came out okay and have a change to figure out what might have happened.  Best of luck in getting answers and peace of mind.

This happened again this morning, although not in such a dramatic fashion. Had actually been having mild chest discomfort the past few days, but the pills I take easily mask that. This morning I had like a stabbing pain on the side of my chest for a few minutes, so I decided to go to the hospital. Just got back home. Had an IV in me for like 6 hours, did the whole EKG shit, and last but not least, they took 5 vials of blood when they gave me a blood test. Had I watched them do that, I most certainly would have fainted. I almost fainted just seeing those vials full of my blood after it was over. I also had a chest x ray.

They found nothing wrong with me, although the doctor said I should go see a heart specialist just to be on the safe side. Nothing wrong with my heart, and they didn't find anything on the x ray either. In other words, it was another panic attack.

I think I'm taking the wrong pills. 14 I need to drop the vicodin addiction and give myself a xanax addiction.

Lol, I was thinking xanax's as well.  Glad it turned out ok James, it's always a good thing when a scare can turn into a laugh and nothing more.

Damn, your real name is actually James Lofton?  I thought it was an homage to the former NFL wide receiver.  FWIW, I had similiar problem (breathing issues), they gave me an EKG and I had to take a chest x ray but the doctor said I was fine.  I suspect it was anxiety related.  Anyway, I hope you feel better.
