Good work on the promo as well, its great to actually be kept informed of stuff.
When does it actually come out though?! Cant wait for this. But then again I was straight to the shops to get St Anger on release day - To buy it, and to take it back.
what are you saying here? just about st anger? or the load and reload albums aswel?
Just St Anger really, Load and Reload had their moments and for a change in musical direction worked on the whole because they had some strong songs - and some absolute clangers too. St Anger though - 90% of it was just terrible. Invisible Kid? My God. Lars drums? Oh dear. Saying that, I havn't listened to anything after Justice for about 4 years now....
I actually have high hopes for this album, but its too easy to get dissapointed with these guys and I may still end up stinking but the snippets so far do show promise.

Re: METALLICA Discussion
I hope it will be good but Metallica hasn't blown me away since Justice. The "Black Album" was obviousy very listenable and tolerable but not Metallica with balls, morelike Metallica "Healthy Choice" style, lol.
Everything since then has been subpar. There have been moments but only here and there. St Anger was the real low point so now they MUST knock it out of the park. The songs that the reviewer said sound old school are promising but the other crap sounds like more Load/Re-load/St Anger/Insert-another-stupid-album-name bullshit. I hope the remaining songs tilt this album more towards the scales of pre-napster/pre-"Masscaraca"/pre-sellout days.
Re: METALLICA Discussion
Rick Rubin produces some solid albums. And has been known to do well with artists in a funk (Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Dixie Chicks, RHCP). although, I'd expect it to be more like the Black album than older one's like Justice... I'm just sayin'
Re: METALLICA Discussion
It is make or break, but even if it's not that good I'd still be a casual fan. I'm not & never really was a huge fan, but I think they were great. Plus, look at the Stones & Aerosmith. Do you think their fans should quit going to shows?? It happens, we get older, so do they.
