Not to sound insulting but when I read things like that I wonder how you could be a fan of the band... to me it's so obvious that those lyrics are lame that I can't even give examples. It's all cheese, like a rehash of the worst of IRS The Blues and TWAT.
Seems like forever and a day - ugh. That right there already makes me feel embarrased to have clicked 'play'. It's so exposed and whiny, and such a tired cliche phrase... I just can't like it.
Using cliches in the lyrics, and writing really cheesy lyrics really doesn't seem heartfelt at all. That song is definently one of the worst out of the demos we have.
I have always loved:

Oh and free them so that they may know

The outro to Better
All of Chinese Democracy and Rhiad, even though Rhiad could use a little work i think.

Song #2 and Catcher don't really do anything for me lyrically...though i know alot of people are really into both of them...its not that they are terrible or anything but its not my thing...i gotta agree with CC that they are bordering on Cheese

yeah i forgot those 2 lines...they're actually the ones that made me think of doing this thread 
but anyway like i said before there are really no super terrible lyrics even with the cheese in there...even silkworms is better than some of the worse UYI and AFD lyrics IMO if you compare it to back off bitch or something, "pussy full of maggots you know that's what you are" is actually more creative than "down in a gutter lyin' in a ditch" 
...though i wonder if its more the wait that has ironed out all the worst stuff moreso than Axl actually evolving lyrically

The lyrics of Chinese Democracy are probably Axl's high point as a songwriter. Seven years later and people still don't get it really shows how its pure genius.
However, my favorite is from The Blues.....
"All the love in the world couldn't save you..."
Don't hardly listen to The Blues anymore though, and it used to be in heavy rotation since they first played it.

I've always loved Axls use of metaphors in his writing. I have to say, I am not disappointed in any of lyrics I've heard so far.
