Metro from Philadelphia's 94 WYSP radio station spoke with VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan on Tuesday (July 1).
According to antiMUSIC, Duff was asked during the interview about Matt Sorum's comments that a GUNS N' ROSES reunion is inevitable. Duff said, in part, "there is no backroom talks, there never has been'¦ but anything can happen. You see all these bands getting back together. I guess hell froze over for THE EAGLES and they did it. But it's not something I count on, or even need in my life."
Duff was also questioned about Matt's recent statement regarding the new VELVET REVOLVER singer search. WYSP's Metro stated, "Matt, your drummer, this week, said that there is actually a guy who you are quote, massaging, and, if you will, sort of checking it out, feeling it out, letting him work with you." Duff responded, "I wouldn't use, probably the words Matt used, but there is a guy we feel is pretty close to what we are looking for. And he's a great guy, amazing singer..."

It seems to me, they would do it, if the oppourtunity appears, i would love it
would be very diffrent, muscled duff on stage compared to his alcoholic days, slash very tattooed and "sober" axl with braids, sorrum with his short hair lol

If Izzy isn't involved, my interest in a reunion reaches absolute zero. He has to be there.
I like how one minute these guys say its not gonna happen, then the next minute they wont rule it out. They're keeping people guessing.

Izzy, Duff, Slash, Axl - That's what I care about. A reunion for a tour and a new track on a greatest hits album. That's the most we'll get, I think.
And I think Axl would spite himself and never sing again before abandoning his band for a reunion.

You may be right...especially now so long has passed and so much has gone on. Then again....in slash's book he talks of times Axl got angry and stormed off, then latter turned up a few days latter like nothing ever happened...and izzy is kinda transient...maybe they could all just reconviene in 2010 as if it were still 1994 and nothing ever went wrong!

I think they're consistent on the reunion: the guys want it to happen, but not sure about the timing and that it'll really happen. Their wish is one thing, but you know, there is Axl...
