I can see how those lines could be interpreted as aimed at the fanbase.

The message there is  pretty 1:1 with the " live your life" interview from way back when.

i hope better is still planned as a single, maybe the second one. virtually everyone i played it to loved it from first listen. people that usually listen to hiphop, pop or rnb....that`s not quite the case with this one.

in my opinion it`s a great song though. and it should be proof enough, that axl won`t keep vocals that were recorded in `99 on the record....
