Came accross this youtube clip I had never seen before from French TV in 1995.  A couple of interesting comments in there, one where Slash says Axl has talked about doing a solo record and then goes on to say that "Axl thinks Guns N' Roses is a solo record for him and unfortunately it's not".  Mmmmmmm

Also the interviewer mentions Paul Huge and Slash says "I hate that guy".

Most true phrase in the history of phrases! I mean i like the leaks - but they're an axl solo project - a kickass one - but they can't be anything else when you have a track - and we can't tell if it's bucket, bumble, fink, huge, etc on guitar...no one knows who the drummer is...etc

^ Very true - I did have a chuckle when I heard that one too.  It was actually an interesting interview to look back on with the benefit of hindsight and seeing the way things panned out.

As junked or drunk as Slash is here, this is one of the truest interviews to where GNR were and how it all ended as any I've seen. Nice find.

Thanks Aussie,

I've been looking for that recently. Saw a link at another forum some months ago, but before I got around to it, it was deleted! Thank you, Google, I really appreciated that! lol

That Duff bit seems to be from late 1993, when he was out promoting Believe in Me. It appears to be an excerpt from this vid (don't have the audio right now, so can't be sure).

I find it funny how people think Duff follows Slash everywhere, but he was actually on board to do an industrial CD with Axl.

Do people think that? I cant imagine an industrial album done by Duff (a punk), Slash ( a solid rock n roll bluesy dude) or Axl (whose industrial chops at the time amounted to the magnificent My World), that would be th weirdest album ever. Just a weird blend that prob wouldnt work, a bit like if Kerry King tried to do a disco album.

Slash seems like some sort of Nostradamus in this video. If he watched that vid now he'd probably crack up laughing.

Brilliant bit about Paul Huge. 16

I don't think for a second that Duff really wanted to do an industrial album, but who knows.  I do know that I've yet to hear an industrial song on any of his post GnR work, so I'm going to guess he was being diplomatic (in typical Duff fashion).

I think the interview is very telling.  It's funny to watch in retrospect and the whole concept of forming a whole new GnR seems as rediculous now as it does on this video, yet somehow it actually happened.

Actually, I think he wanted Axl to do an industrial CD, "to get it out of his system", so to speak. Nowhere did he say he wanted to be part of it.
