My hope is Monday, my expectation is by next Friday. Anything later than that is a bit ridiculous.
I'm glad Axl is adding his own touch to the release, I think it'll be worth the wait. The band could have easily just put out the album art and track list and said "Nov 23rd blah blah blah"... but we know that wouldn't be good enough for Axl 
. I'm sure we're going to get some interesting stuff in the release... (hopefully)
And russtcb I wasn't referring to you at all man, your post about being surprised is totally legit... I'm talking about people on this and other sites who seem to be totally pissed that the press release isn't out... it was never promised this week, so I don't know why people have to act like they are owed it.

mysteron shouldn't have said anything. i am not saying that in mindless hind site either. i felt this way as soon as he said that axl was writing the statement and would release it as soon as it is done. what if it is completed sunday morning? i think he would wait til the right moment during the week. in the mean time lots of us are assuming it will be done sooner than that. i just made a post and got karma for it regarding this false prophecy shit. he may be right that axl is working on it but it was misleading and premature to bring it up, knowing it was gonna raise excitement and expectations. if it comes tonight i will admit that i was wrong or if it comes later but is huge and clearly required more than a couple of hours to put together i will admit i was wrong. in the mean time i feel like this was irresponsible on mysteron's part.

I wouldn't label it irresponsible.
There is no right way to do this. The project was bumbled from the start, and the ridiculous nature of it spiraled out of control. The ship can no longer be steered in a direction that will make all hardcore fans happy, so he can just stay the course and do it on his own time frame.
We already know the tracklist, have the album cover, and have heard 80% of the album. Axl delaying his statement awhile doesn't change anything.

Why exactly do we need a press release? What more can we gain from it?
To clear some things up. Is this the first album of a trilogy? Will we have to wait 14 years for part 2? Is there gonna be some bonus with CD? If so what? Why did it take so long? Is there gonna be a tour? If so who's in the band? What is the deal with Robin? Those are some things he can get answered amongst other things.

Axl will not reveal why it took so long. The only way he would do that is through a lucrative book deal probably 20 years from now.

...at least i dont expect it too..itll just be a band confrimation that the albu, will be out and a solidification of the release date and tracklist
Still better than nothing. Or better than that GNR reacts to the arrest. Not mentioning the new album on their site makes it seem like it's being released against Axl's wishes.

i am saying mysteron is stringing us along by saying that axl is currently writing his statement and will release it when it is done.
don't report the obvious shit if you don't have anything to offer. right now hundreds of people accross the forums are expecting something any minute that may not happen til later next week. all because mysteron felt the need to let us in on another vaguely explained event. mysteron is not gnr's pr man and rarley speaks but when he does most of the time it has been big. i don't have a problem with mysteron but i think it was a wrong move. he should have waited til he knew more but hopefully i am wrong and this thing comes out tonight.
