Re: BETTER: second single CONFIRMED
CD wasn't a bad first single. Only thing bad was how some thought it was gonna achieve world domination.
Yeah, Better is the only logical choice at this point. Its the catchiest song on the album so they need it on the airwaves to coincide with the album's launch. The single that's out when the album is released could possibly make or break the long term success of the album, and if they're gonna place the possible survival of the album on one track, go with Better.
Considering the pretty positive reviews Riad is getting, that is now a viable single possibility and I would not be shocked if they go with it. That intro on it is killer and deserves to be longer, but may have been shortened on the final version simply for single/radio purposes.
Re: BETTER: second single CONFIRMED
i think that was part of what maybe killed CD on radio.. the long ass intro.. or it's just their excuse... either way...
better will be the song to "convert the masses"
funny... right after robin is confirmed to be gone.. they release his song as a single...
Re: BETTER: second single CONFIRMED
Even though its argued at all these sites, CD was actually a solid single. Did it go to number one excluding rock charts? No. Did it destroy its competition on Itunes? No.
However, it let people know they are back and that its actually happening and not the weekly/monthly/yearly joke. It was a sacrificial lamb to usher the album into reality.
Also, considering the fact Axl and the band do zero promo, that single was needed at the time.
Re: BETTER: second single CONFIRMED
Good plan in my eyes. A rock single to get the rockers, follow it up with something the masses will devour. CD was never meant to be a chart-topper. I mean seriously, what's the last rock song by a hard rock band to hit No. 1 or even chart that well?
Sorry, by Buckcherry? No, that dog won't hunt.

actually, the single's performance is pretty impressive considering the lack of any real promotion....

Better would be the PERFECT follow up. Follow it up with Street of Dreams.
