Now that Mariah Carey has taken to the stage: Pitman said something about this not being true (screenshots were posted). But some say he wouldn't let on on a performance if it was meant to be a surprise?
Thoughts?
Maybe Pitman is not in the band anymore.

Same reason Axl wasn't a 'surprise' in 2006 at the VMA's. He was a presenter.

I think so. She is receiving that special award thing. Mariah Carrey also received some special award and performed.
