That post is laughable. The only thing you got right is the amount of money he spent.
I don't necessarily agree with the 5 O'Clock being superior to CD(although I might say it about Ju Ju Hounds, to each their own), but I absolutely thing everything else he said is right on.
Fact of the matter is, if you take the best few songs off all the solo albums (I'm including Chinese in that) and factor in what could have happened with the other member's input you have what could have been the masterpiece followup to Use Your Illusion's.
That said, I think CD is really good, it's not gonna make it outta my player for a while, but that doesn't make what Mikka said not accurate.

I don't think it would be better than CD as such...
But I do think if you got the 14 best guitar parts slash has played since GNR they would be at a similar level to CD.
Bottom line: Slash will always make great solos (look at that Alice Song he did recently), and Axl will always make awesome vocal parts (Look at "This I love"). They both rule.

Look around you...he's not alone. CD = overrated. And I'm not just talking about all the bloated expectations, the album is not even produced at an acceptable level for a "band" called Guns N' Roses much less performed at that level. History will see this album as a joke and a failure. It's still the butt of all the jokes and it's actually been released...people aren't saying "at least it was worth the wait" - they are still making jokes about the wait. IF this is Axl Rose's statement to the world, I hope he goes back to being quiet. Hopefully he just dropped this piece of crap to move onto his real work (whatever that might be).

I'm not gonna buy it, I don't think it's good enough for that. I didn't buy Libertad for the same reason. Not gonna download it either, but the myspace streams don't convince me. The songs aren't strong enough (which I obviously already knew for the most part), and the arrangement is just utterly horrible.
I sincerely hope they get their heads out of their asses and realize they need each other. And I agree IFOCS is better than CD (or CB or Libertad), I still don't get why people continuously mock that album.

i tried really hard to like Izzy's solo stuff. Really hard. It just didn't work.
