Re: Matt Sorum "Pleasantly Surprised" by Chinese Democracy
The Rockerrazzi web site conducted an interview with former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum at VH1 Classic's Rock Autism Celebrity Bowl-Off, which took over Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood on Thursday, November 13. The evening benefitted three autism organizations and raised funds which will be donated to the charities: hollyrod4kids, ACT Today!, and The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. Watch the one-and-a-half-minute chat below.
Asked if he's heard any new GUNS N' ROSES material, Sorum replied, "Yeah, I think it's cool. I heard the single ['Chinese Democracy']. I haven't heard the album. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the single. I like the way it was mixed. Axl's [Rose] voice sounded great. It wasn't a song I worked on 15 years ago. I don't remember that riff."

Re: Matt Sorum "Pleasantly Surprised" by Chinese Democracy
I really hope the guys can find a singer, but it's gonna be tough. To me, all the singers nowadays sound the same - like shit.
If Chinese Democracy sells 300 000 in its first week and Contraband sold 250 000, what are the VR haters who say people "bought it out of curiosity" now spew?
Re: Matt Sorum "Pleasantly Surprised" by Chinese Democracy
It's gonna say Axl & Dizzy + Slash, Duff, Izzy & Matt = 550k first week.
I really believe the majority of people that ran out and bought CD first day or two are Axl fans, and have always been.
Just like as an Axl fan, myself, it took me two years before I bought Contraband. Because I didn't give a fuck about it.
Re: Matt Sorum "Pleasantly Surprised" by Chinese Democracy
Exactly. I think they stayed silent to dupe the casual public into thinking it's old GN'R, and in reality most people knew it wasn't.
Or the even scarier reality, they thought it was old GN'R, and still didn't care.
