German TV station Pro7 aired a two-minute report on the release of GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited new album, "Chinese Democracy", which included interviews with the band's fans and a short chat with Sven Kilthau-Lander, senior director of promotion at Universal Music Germany (international division). Watch the report below.

In other news, one GUNS N' ROSES fan has posted a short video clip of a truck advertising the "Chinese Democracy" album on the streets of Tokyo, Japan. The fan says, "It must have come past me about 5 or 6 times within an hour."

"Chinese Democracy" was released in the U.S. exclusively through Best Buy. The 14-song set is available on CD, vinyl, and as a download.

One new song, "Shackler's Revenge", debuted on September 14 through the Rock Band 2 video game, while another, called "If The World", can be heard in the new film "Body of Lies".

"Chinese Democracy" is the first album of new material from GUNS N' ROSES since 1991's "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II".

Do you think this has been a more or less faceless campaign because universal want joe public to buy the album before realising Slash and co are not on it?

Could be very very possible. I know in 2006, most people I ran into at the concerts were 'aware' of the new band, but didn't know little things like Bucket & Brain were gone.

The casual fan I ran into in 2006, informing them I was attending the shows, had NO CLUE Slash & co. were out of the band. None.

So I think there's a very good chance from the casual fan, the GH purchaser, that they still think it's Axl & Slash.

Hell, back when RollingStone.com posted some of the Anti-Quiet leaks, there were all kinds of bloggers talking about how Slash was back in the band, and how great Slash's guitar work sounded, and how great Slash's solos were on If The World.

That was the MAJORITY of the bloggers. Most people are clueless, and I wouldn't be shocked at all if they are trying to dupe the typical customer.

^ That might be the UK ad, that opens with the SCOM riff but to be honest it's a pretty good ad.

well this kinda ties into the Mick Wall thread. Why is gnr using Slash's image to try and fool people into buying it? who is riding who's coattails here?

so if your band isnt marketable then use someone who left 13 years ago? .... gimme a break, and peopel wonder why interviewers always ask duff and slash whats up with Axl 4
