This is from the newest issue of RAW magazine. This website has the full article up, but for copyright reasons I'm only going to paste the part that concerns us.
This interview is basically his welcome back article for coming back to wrestling after two years. This is the last question that is asked.
Needless to say, I about feel off my chair when I read this.

Q: 'Lastly , fans want to know.. how the hell do you plan on topping yourself this go-round?'
A: 'That's like asking Axl Rose to top Appetite for Destruction. He can't. All he can do is get Chinese Democracy done and make it as good as he can. If you're obsessed with topping your past work it ain't going to happen.'

I can see his point.
Although he shouldn't bring Axl into it when he is trying to say he can't top himself.
