#301 Re: Guns N' Roses » Would the old band play the new songs? » 890 weeks ago
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if some of the "new" songs were old band creations. For all we know, that's part of what's been holding up CD all these years. The lawsuits for who get album credits, royalties & all that other crap. We know Izzy was asked if it was OK to use some of his ideas & it would be naive to think that Duff never worked on any CD songs. But I would think if there was a reunion, they would definitely release an album & play some songs(Maddy) live.

It's too bad GNR didn't just decide to chill for a couple of years after the UYI tour. The RHCP will always be around though. The article saying they split is a bit misleading.

The first two were both great, while the third one was ridiculously bad.
#304 Re: The Sunset Strip » Sydney Pollack dies of cancer at age 73 » 891 weeks ago
This is a weird one. Sidney Pollack was one of those famous names that I knew, but couldn't put a face to. Then, a couple of days ago I rented Michael Clayton, and saw that Sidney Pollack was the boss & then he passes away. Also, he too was from Lafayette, Indiana.

"Look for Velvet Revolver to get back into the studio in the near future, with a new vocalist and a new band name."
I hope they pick a cool one!

I'm voting Smith off. He was definitely a really good player, but I think those Dallas teams of the 90's enabled him to put up better stats than other more talented players got on worse teams.

Jane's Addiction-Ritual de lo Habitual
The Black Crowes-Southern Harmony & the Musical Companion
Nirvana-Nevermind
Alice In Chains-Dirt
Pearl Jam-Ten
Green Day-Dookie
Alanis Morrisette-Jagged Little Pill
Nine Inch Nails-The Downward Spiral
Metallica-The Black Album
Red Hot Chili Peppers-Blodd Sugar Sex Magic
These aren't my favorites, but this list covers alot of ground in the 90's rock scene.

Bend, Oregon
Here's Bend with a bit of the Cascades Mountain range hanging out in back. Mt. Bachelor, the one on the left, is famous for skiing & snowboarding.

I finally saw Travis Meeks intervention episode. I had no idea the guy was that insanely talented. Hopefully, he can stay alive & write some more great music. I don't really see him fronting VR though. He seems like more of a modern day Johny Cash type guy, than a dancing around guy.

Never been a fan of Shooter Jennings, so that would be disappointing to me if he got the gig. Linda Perry fronting a band of Izzy, Slash, Duff, and Sorum is what I would like to see.
