I think most will agree with the GNR top 3 being Better, The Blues, and Chinese Democracy. Your VR substitutions look good to me. I like all three of those songs.

Still blows away Madagascar.

It was tough to narrow the VR songs down to just 9. I think several songs are as good as Set Me Free including Superhuman, American Man and Dirty Little Thing.

What do you guys think? I could have added Silkworms, but it probably won't make the album. I really don't see a big difference one way or another. You Got No Right could be an old school GNR type song. Its really a great tune. You Got No Right and the Blues are two songs that seem old school GNR to me, or at least share common ground. Sucker Train Blues is pretty much an Appetite sounding song but with Weiland's vocals instead of Axl's. I think VR's stuff is just as good as current GNR's and they took a lot less time to create, which isn't part of the question, but still, nothing rocks as hard as Slither and Sucker Train Blues on the new GNR type stuff.

I heard this song today on my way home and it reminded me of a new GNR song with the piano and a guitar virtuoso on guitar. Only difference is that this song was focused, the band had chemistry, and the guitar solo fit the song. I could Imagine Axl coming up with a very similar sound, which maybe shows this music isn't so new anyway... Thoughts?

Chinese Democracy the Song is the only that is remotely close to Appetite Style that we have heard so far and its an old song. So that must be the song he speaks of. I wish Zakk was on a few songs.
