Re: U.S. sending China a "warning"??
Personally i think in a nuclear war between China and the U.S. nobody wins, but i think any country that attempted a ground invasion of China would be annilated not to mention China would more than likely be backed by Russia which would mean bye bye to the opposing country but thats just my opinion.
I also think most probably that object in the video is more than likely some sort of missile as the second video with the stills has been said to be a fake.
At the end of the day i dont see any point in the U.S. showing there muscle to China as any war between the two would end in total disaster for both parties.
I can't say i know much about the subject but thats how i see it, i may be wrong.

Re: U.S. sending China a "warning"??
Without following the links, how do you know the videos are aunthenic and not doctored?
I know very little about air capabilities. Not my field. It is my opinion, that within 30 years, humans on the battlefield will be non existent- at least from an American perspective. Terminators are a real thing being worked on and some of the cool robotic stuff they have out there is awesome.
With regard to China's military. Their numbers are incredible. Any ground war against the US would be a one sided win for China. America just can't compete with its numbers. However, American technology, air craft, rockets and other means would bring havok on the commies if they ever tried to be a badass. Most of China is farmland so a few strategic nukes would end their command and control.
Re: U.S. sending China a "warning"??
Flagg, the footage was on the news on a global scale. You can google this incident and the footage is everywhere. If this was from some nerd uploading it to youtube, I would definitely be more skeptical on the subject.
Also take into account the Chinese let this info out and they are not the most open society. I think they were genuinely concerned about what was going on when this first occurred. That airport wasn't shut down for shits and giggles. If it was a Chinese missile, there's no way in hell it would have happened like that. They would know their own missile's trajectory and even if it veered off path, it obviously wouldn't have a live nuke on it requiring shutting down public facilities.
If this was some high tech missile, it wasn't theirs.
The U.S. and Russia have tested thousands of missiles. Anyone have an example of airports or any other facilities being shut down while the missile is in flight? Then after doing so, letting the footage out in an attempt to find out what it is?
The U.S., Russia, and I assume the EU would have been monitoring this test no matter what. If this was an everyday, run of the mill missile, China just made complete fools out of themselves and showed they are very weak when it comes to anything of this nature. If you have a brain fart while one missile is flying in your sky, to paraphrase Hulk Hogan, whatcha gonna do when thousands of American missiles run wild on you?
Glad to see you jump in here Flagg. Don't see you often and considering your line of work, I worry about you when you go very long periods without logging in. Totally agree on the "terminator" thing. If Japan has those life like robots(although they are limited in function), I cant even imagine what our military has.
Back when we started using those unmanned drones(and soon unmanned bombers), I knew it was just a matter of time. I would assume that we continue to have a large military even if it goes artificial.
I like to see military guys(and gals) weigh in on China. They all say similar things. The general public considers China a major threat while those that would actually be in the line of fire so to speak look at it a bit differently. I've had people tell me(think you may have even said this years ago) how China would have some difficulty during a Taiwan invasion. Not sure I'd go that far, but it does show some weakness there. Having millions of ground troops means nothing if you don't have the capability to move them around the globe in three shakes of a lamb's tail, much less a few miles off your coast.
I would consider China's army more defensive in nature even though its supposed to be the opposite.
Their nuclear arsenal is also defensive in nature and I can see why they are the only power to have the "no first use" policy. They would be committing suicide by shooting first.
