That's exactly how I did it.

But look around, sometimes others have already done it. You alot of times can find MP3's for CD's, of old tapes & LP's already floating around on the internet.

Use a site like - filestube.com

Plug into "line in" on your soundcard.

Record the signal using http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you have better soundcards/interfaces there might be higher quality ways or something, but that's the basic DYI method I think.
